The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 is an advanced smart home sensor designed to detect human movement while measuring surrounding light levels for more accurate automation. Using a high-precision PIR motion sensor, it can detect movement up to approximately 7 metres away and trigger actions such as turning lights on, adjusting smart blinds, activating security scenes, or controlling other connected devices. Unlike traditional Aqara Zigbee sensors, the P2 uses Matter over Thread, allowing direct integration with compatible ecosystems such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant when used with a Thread Border Router. Its compact design, adjustable mounting stand, and privacy-focused operation make it suitable for bedrooms, offices, hallways, bathrooms, and security applications.
